Nancy O'Dell's debut job in the broadcast industry was as a reporter/anchor at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. She later worked as morning news anchor and crime reporter at WCBD-TV. O'Dell's reporting on the lax responses of police officers in response to DUI instances in Charleston led to an investigation by State Law Enforcement Division, that led to a revised directive from state authorities regarding DUI cases. Ms. O'Dell was awarded the Best Report of the Media Award South Carolina by the Associated Press. Following her stint living in Charleston, O'Dell worked as an anchor co-host for the NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV and as an investigative reporter. Then she joined Access Hollywood to work as a weekday and weekend correspondent. As well as her job as the lead anchor for Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell is also a contributor to NBC News' Today and as well for Dateline NBC. She has covered such events including The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards as and co-hosted a variety of Pre-ShowArrivals shows for The Emmys and the Golden Globes. She also co-hosted the Miss USA pageant and the Miss Universe pageant.
